Hello fellow Swarmers,

My thanks to "Ferrari Dennis" for putting together the first real driving event that the Yellow Swarm has enjoyed since we started gathering. Tucked in behind Dennis' F355 Spyder, Laurie and I enjoyed the San Diego back country the way I like to. That means that we drove some roads that don't necessarily go from point A to point B.

As with every Swarm event that I have been to the diversity of yellow cars always draws attention to us as we go. We had a Ferrari, 2 Corvettes, 2 VW Beetles (1963 and a newer one), a Lotus Elise, a Porsche Cayman, Chrysler LeBaron Convertible, Toyota FJCruiser, Saturn Sky, Nissan Xterra, Mustang, and some that I can't remember right now. Old age is...well I forget. I think we counted 16 total cars. Dennis did a great job of keeping us together by waiting at the end of each stretch of road. Dudley's Bakery gave Nanz a pie, just because we stopped there. I think also because so many of us bought a bunch of their baked goods. What do you think?

As we got close to Valley View Casino, our ultimate dinner destination, one group of cars headed directly for the casino missing the last leg of the route. I guess they were really getting hungry. Approximately half of the cars finished Couser Canyon Road, one of my favorites, and headed toward Valley View. Nanz, part of the hungry group, called Dennis to let him know that the buffet line was HUGE. The result was that some just went home...some went on to Dalton's Roadhouse...some stayed and waited out the line. At any rate we unfortunately lost having the whole group sit down and enjoy each others company over a meal. Although, Laurie and I got to thank Dennis personally as we consumed the Dudley's pie after dinner at Dalton's, I will thank him for all of us. Thanks Dennis!
