The Yellow Swarm forms a Hive at Daltons!
By Nanz, Mazda RX8
April 6th early in the morning, The Yellow Swarm began to gather at Daltons Roadhouse Grill in Escondido. We had estimated from RSVPs that we would have 20 cars and bikes
only to find by the end of the day we had nearly 40 Yellow Swarmers swarm into the parking lot! Daltons was great and roped off 25 spaces so we could all park together and show our Yellowness. One of our Yellow Swarm, Carol, took the Yellows as they appeared and found parking spaces for them all
thank you so much Carol! The Waids made a Yellow Swarm banner for us Thanks Steve and Laurie
the banner makes a great hive gathering spot!
We had so many wonderful and diverse kinds of rides
it was wonderful to behold! We gathered, talked, shared stories and ate a great Bar-B-Q lunch. We had lessons in our unique yellowness (information on the special features of our cars) by the car guys in the know. Thank you for sharing your wisdom! I drive a Mazda RX8
did you know I was the only rotary engine on the parking lot
and it only has 1300 ccs and develops 240 horsepower???? And
. Vanessa found that her Escort ZX2 S/R was one of only 500 cars made. She has since found out that only 100 yellows were made!
I was encouraged to enter my car in the judging
and Steve Waid helped detail my engine so I looked pretty (it was a tad dusty
must have picked up the dust in the parking lot!)
then he gave me pointers on how to share important facts to the judge
it was so much fun! Well it worked
I was astonished to find I won a trophy! Guess I need a trophy room now!
Gary with his great F150 pick up won his very first trophy! Congratulations Gary!
We offered preproduction sign ups for our new window cling and gave Swarmers the opportunity to have their Yellow car photo on the new postcards. By making a donation to Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation they secured a spot on the new postcards.
Several new potential Swarmers found us and were delighted to know about us. Several Swarmers won raffle prizes.
All in all it was a good day. next we do a driving event on May 18th to benefit Papoose Conservation Wildlife Foundation promoting helping youth experience Nature it is going to be very fun event!
I hope you join us
